The Hub of Ben Blotner's Writing Career

a short story
A completely insane short story I managed to dig up from my college days, originally written in 2019 for a creative writing class and now posted here for shits and giggles. Absurdist doesn't even begin to describe it. Largely inspired by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, it tells the story of Kyle and Bill, two homeless gentlemen who will do anything they can to make a quick buck. 2019 Ben wasn't quite as strong a writer, but I dusted it off and spruced it up a little. It received generally positive reviews from critics.

White Sox Book
I've officially been published in a book for the first time! Check out the Society for American Baseball Research's The 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox: Grinders and Gamers, which features my biography of former White Sox closer Bobby Jenks. It was an honor to cover Bobby's very eventful career and life, and my thoughts go out to him and his family during his current battle with stomach cancer.

About Benny Blot
Hey there! I'm Ben Blotner, a 20-something freelance writer and aspiring novelist from Columbus, Ohio. My work has been published by the Wooster Voice, the Columbus Jewish News, and the Society for American Baseball Research. I've written one and a half novels, and I am looking to publish the first one in 2025. My passions include baseball, pop-punk music, travel, adventure, and cinema. I love the Boston Red Sox, Fall Out Boy, and the films of Quentin Tarantino, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Yorgos Lanthimos. I'll be posting short stories, takes on various topics, and novel updates. Expect a blend of quirky hangout stories, dark comedy, pulpy crime, and scathing satire, with an infusion of pop culture- and Internet-related humor.
